Aubrey Young-Escobedo, CSWI
I believe therapy is about empowering yourself to take the next step forward in your journey towards healing, growth, strength, and connections. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults working through depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and PTSD.
My approach is empathetic and proactive. I believe in using evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients understand themselves and build skills to develop the life they want.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Utah Valley University, and I am currently working on my Masters of Social Work from Utah State University. I have worked with individuals in residential settings working through trauma and addiction, children and teens in the school system, and children in community mental health programs, including those experiencing foster care and adoption. I believe everyone deserves a chance to feel empowered and safe to make meaningful changes for a fulfilling life.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, crafting, or baking. I grew up in Tucson, AZ, before moving to Utah in my late teens. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that change isn't easy, and isn't perfect, but it is always worth it. This sentiment, I believe, can also be found in therapy: not easy, not perfect, but worth it.
