Where is Veritas located, and do they offer telehealth for eating disorders?
Veritas is located in Orem, Utah, serving the local community and surrounding Utah County. They also provide secure telehealth sessions for Utah, Idaho and Virginia residents, so eating‑disorder therapy can be accessed either in person at the Orem office or online, depending on your needs and location.
Does Veritas Mental Health treat eating disorders?
Yes. Veritas Mental Health specifically offers therapy for eating disorders as one of the conditions they treat, alongside issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Their dedicated eating‑disorders page describes helping men and women who feel exhausted by the ongoing battle with their body and food.
What kind of eating‑disorder treatment does Veritas provide?
Veritas provides outpatient psychotherapy, meaning you meet with a therapist for regular sessions (often weekly) rather than living at a facility or attending all‑day programs. Treatment focuses on emotional, psychological, and behavioral aspects of eating disorders like changing thoughts, coping patterns, and relationships with body and food, rather than medical procedures or supervised meals on site.
Which eating‑disorder symptoms or struggles can we help with?
We emphasize with people who feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and stuck in cycles of body‑hatred, food battles, and hopelessness about recovery. We work with both men and women and focus on the emotional and physical effects of eating disorders, helping clients regain strength, confidence, and a sense of self.
What is Veritas’s overall philosophy for eating‑disorder recovery?
Veritas highlights real, lasting change rather than quick fixes or gimmicks. You need more than another dietitian. We emphasize compassionate, experienced treatment, aiming to guide clients toward a balanced and more joyful life where recovery feels possible again.
What types of therapy might be used?
While the eating‑disorders page is more about tone than techniques, their general practice lists evidence‑based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment‑based approaches, and Strength‑Based therapy. In eating‑disorder work, these tools are typically used to challenge distorted thoughts, regulate emotions, and build healthier behaviors and self‑image.
Do you treat both men and women with eating disorders?
Yes. We've been helping men and women for over 15 years with eating‑disorder recovery. This is important because many eating‑disorder services are marketed primarily to women. We recognize that men can face this challenge as well, and we will treat you with the respect and care you need.
Is Veritas appropriate for severe or medically unstable eating disorders?
Veritas functions as an outpatient therapy clinic, not a hospital or residential eating‑disorder center, so it is best suited for people who are medically stable and safe to attend weekly therapy. Individuals with severe restriction, rapid weight loss, frequent purging, or medical complications typically need higher‑level care (IOP, PHP, residential, or inpatient) at specialized centers in or near Orem.
How do I start eating‑disorder treatment at Veritas?
Getting started is quick and easy. We have an online booking system that allows you to see your therapist's schedule availability. You can either book your appointment online, or you can reach out to us at 484-843-7279 and we will be happy to help get your first appointment set up
