Healing Through Connection
I was drawn to this profession because I believe that counseling is healing and empowering. I utilize a client centered and strength based approach to help a client to find that strength and ability they have to overcome pain and difficulties. I have worked in many areas of Social Work and had life experiences that help me to have a greater understanding and compassion to the difficulties we can face in life. I strive to help my client in changing maladaptive coping skills that they have used in the past. My experience and training helps me to support a client in learning healthier ways to cope with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, addiction, relationship conflicts/barriers and many other areas that can be frustrating and/or devastating. Healing, improving one’s functioning and finding joy often needs the assistance of a therapeutic outlook and process. It can be the catalyst to healthy changes that improve our life. I am grateful that being a therapist gives me the opportunity to advocate for my clients in their journey of healing and experiencing an increase in happiness and joy.
I have an Associates from BYU Idaho, a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Utah and a Master’s Degree from the University of Utah in Social Work. I am an LCSW. I utilize many therapeutic approaches depending on the needs and what works for a client individually. I utilize CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and many other modalities depending on the needs and goals of my client. I work with individuals and couples. My experience is with working with adolescents, adults and/or couples. If I would be a good fit, I look forward to working with you so I can help you in navigating your healing and assist in empowering you 💗 If I am not taking new clients, I work with an Amazing and Clinically Skilled team and would be happy to refer you to one of my colleagues.
